“I've been here for one year, but I was here two summers before that as an intern. There were two primary things that attracted me to working at Fisher & Paykel Healthcare: Firstly, the working culture - it's pretty laid back and friendly, but people here have a definite drive to challenge themselves, and to progress the company and its products. Secondly, the opportunity to work at one of New Zealand's best performing companies, and all the benefits that come with that - world class engineering facilities, great employee development and the opportunity to experience a large international market. When I started here I was surprised by the amount of freedom I was given to explore ideas, make things and have a say in business decisions.”

Graduate: Linda Yassi | Process Development Engineer

“I have been working at Fisher & Paykel Helathcare for one year now, I came straight out of university and started as a grad. I also worked here as a student. After researching other jobs, I realized that I really liked the values that Fisher & Paykel Helathcare have as they aligned with my own personal values. I used to dream about working in the automotive industry or with airplanes but when I really began to think about what I wanted to do in my lifetime, I realized I wanted to help people. So going into healthcare made sense for me and I knew it would give me job satisfaction unlike the other job options I was looking into.

My first favourite thing here is the people. There is a wide variety of different people from all walks of life that can share some really interesting stories and experience. Due to the large size of the company, there is always someone new to meet and everyone here is so friendly. My second favourite thing here is the fact that they really take care of the employees. The cafeteria, the beautiful grounds, the ability to use machines outside of work hours for personal projects.

What surprised me the most was how friendly and helpful everyone was. I was a new grad and I was really worried to start working with experienced engineers. I felt like I knew nothing and would be left out but I felt like I was part of the team within my first week and if I ever had a question or got stuck I found that people go out of their way to help.”
