InfoSmart Web platform

This page outlines information about the data generated by the InfoSmart™ Web platform, as a related service to the SleepStyle™ device, and how a user may access, retrieve and erase this data*.


What data does the InfoSmart Web platform receive from the SleepStyle device?

The InfoSmart Web platform receives therapy data from the SleepStyle device, including:

  • the settings on your device, including set pressure, set humidity, serial number, model name
  • your therapy usage, such as start time, run time, hours of usage, time of use; 
  • your breathing during therapy, such as respiratory flow, total leak, measured pressure; and 
  • the local environment during therapy, such as room temperature, room humidity.

Once the therapy data is associated with a patient record in the InfoSmart Web platform, the data becomes identifiable personal data.


Estimated volume of SleepStyle device data that the InfoSmart Web platform will receive and frequency of collection

The InfoSmart Web platform will receive on average less than 2KB of data per session per SleepStyle device.

Where a Bluetooth connection is active, data is uploaded to the InfoSmart Web platform at the end of the therapy session.   Otherwise, data can be uploaded to the InfoSmart Web platform through the InfoUSB™ stick.

 

How can a user access or retrieve SleepStyle data that is obtained through the InfoSmart Web platform?

Data retrieved from the SleepStyle device is available to view through the InfoSmart Web platform (access restricted to healthcare professionals only).  Otherwise, users can request a copy through the Data Hub website form.

 

F&P's data storage arrangements relating to SleepStyle data received through InfoSmart Web platform and duration of retention

This data is securely stored in servers located in the European Union by Microsoft.  Data is retained for seven (7) years (five (5) years in France) after the healthcare provider has ceased use of their InfoSmart Web account, or earlier if we are asked to delete this data by the healthcare provider.  

 

What data does the InfoSmart Web platform collect?

The InfoSmart Web platform collects the following information:

  • user account information, including name, company/organisation, email, phone number, log-in details
  • InfoSmart Web audit histories, including changes to patient records, prior reports generated, login activity date / times.

The amount of user account information is limited to the data provided by the user on registration, and the audit history data generated will depend on use. 

 

How can a user access or retrieve the related services data for the InfoSmart Web platform?

User account information is directly available to the user through the InfoSmart Web platform (access restricted to healthcare professionals only).

InfoSmart Web audit histories are also available in the InfoSmart Web platform, either directly to the user or via the organisation’s InfoSmart Web account administrator.

Otherwise (eg if the user is not granted access to the InfoSmart Web platform), you can also request a copy of InfoSmart Web platform data through the Data Hub website form.


F&P's data storage arrangements relating to InfoSmart Web data and duration of retention

This data is securely stored in the Microsoft Azure environment located in the European Union.  Data is retained for seven (7) years (five (5) years in France) after the healthcare provider has ceased use of their InfoSmart Web account, or earlier if we are asked to delete this data.


How does Fisher & Paykel Healthcare use InfoSmart Web data? 

The InfoSmart Web platform facilitates making therapy data generated by patients using selected F&P devices available to their treating healthcare professionals.  Fisher & Paykel Healthcare uses data to store and manage records for these healthcare professionals, ensure the proper functioning of the platform and SleepStyle device, comply with healthcare professionals’ requests, perform data analytics to improve our products and services, and communicate with patients about their use of their SleepStyle device or Fisher & Paykel Healthcare’s use of patient personal data.  

This data is used by Fisher & Paykel Healthcare Limited located at 15 Maurice Paykel Place, East Tāmaki, Auckland, New Zealand.


Will third parties also access the InfoSmart Web data for these purposes?  If yes, who and for what purpose?

Healthcare professionals and the organisations for which they work may access and process InfoSmart Web data in the context of providing care to patients (eg to review information relating to patient use of the SleepStyle device and the effectiveness of the therapy provided, identify and resolve issues patients may be having with the therapy and adjust therapy settings on the device if necessary).  The relevant healthcare organisation and clinician will be identifiable to the patient based on their treatment relationship.


How can I contact F&P about the data collected?  How can I request that the data is shared with a third party, and if applicable, end the data sharing?

Trade secrets contained in the data collected

Fisher & Paykel Healthcare is the holder of any trade secrets contained in the SleepStyle data or the InfoSmart Web platform data.


Contractual arrangements between the user and Fisher & Paykel Healthcare

It is optional to use the InfoSmart Web platform. The contract between the user (ie a healthcare provider) and Fisher & Paykel Healthcare begins when the user accepts the InfoSmart Web platform terms and conditions.  The user can cancel their use of the InfoSmart Web platform at any time by notifying Fisher & Paykel Healthcare as set out in the InfoSmart Web platform terms and conditions.

* Please note, that while the myAirvo™ 3 device connects to the InfoSmart Web platform, the InfoSmart Web platform is not a “related service” of the myAirvo 3 device for the purposes of the Data Act.
