Our people are our strength and our ongoing success is a direct result of their skills and expertise. We have more than 6,000 people working in, or supporting, over 120 countries around the globe.
We value self-motivation, the drive to make a real contribution, continual improvement and innovative thinking. In return, we offer our people the opportunity to work for a world class, successful company where each person is valued and respected. We pay our employees fairly based on performance and the complexity and size of the individual role. Our assessment of fair pay considers the total package of remuneration, which includes fixed annual remuneration (base pay and benefits) and discretionary variable remuneration (annual, long term and all employee profit share components). We review our total package remuneration on an annual basis.
We fully support the principles in the United Nations Declaration on Human Rights and the International Labour Organisation Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, including non-discrimination, freedom of association and collective bargaining, and freedom from forced and child labour. We seek to uphold human rights in all business activities.
Keeping our people and products safe is one of our key priorities.
As an essential service, our operations have continued during COVID-19 lockdowns. Our health and safety approach is to meet or exceed local government recommendations.
To ensure our people remain safe and healthy, we have implemented an array of safety measures at our largest manufacturing facilities in New Zealand and Mexico. COVID-19-related health and safety measures will continue to be a priority.
Our health, safety and wellbeing progress is reported regularly to the Board of Directors and to the Quality, Safety and Regulatory Committee of the Board three times a year.
