The F&P 550 System has been designed for at-home patients requiring humidification for invasive ventilation, e.g., tracheostomy, or noninvasive ventilation, e.g., mask. The system uses the HC550 Respiratory Humidifier, a F&P humidification chamber, and either the RT-series or Evaqua™ Breathing Circuit.
Heat and humidity are added by passing the gas over heated water while the temperature of the gas flowing through the breathing circuit is increased using breathing circuit heater wires.
This humidifier supplies, monitors and controls heat to the humidification chamber to heat the water it contains. As respiratory gas passes over the heated water, it increases in humidity and temperature.
It also supplies and controls heat to heated respiratory circuits, such as the F&P RT-series or Evaqua™ Breathing Circuits. This stabilizes the temperature of the humidified gas passing through, reducing the potential for condensation.
The HC550 Respiratory Humidifier is similar to the popular MR850 Respiratory Humidifier, but with attributes that make it our recommended active humidification system for tracheostomy care at home.
Features include:
Therapeutic levels of warm, humidified gas
his active, heated humidifier is designed for use with artificial ventilation systems to provide therapeutic levels of warm, humidified gas to patients.
Preset temperature output
Temperature output can be preset by the clinician to invasive and noninvasive modes to suit the patient’s respiratory and therapy requirements, and to minimize set-up requirements for users.
Color coded for easy setup
Temperature Probe and Heater-wire Adaptor connections are color coded to their respective sockets, making it easier to set up.
Subdued display lighting and indicators
Display and indicators are subdued and visible only when required. Set-up issues are indicated by lighted areas on a simplified diagram.
Suitable for a range of therapies
The HC550 Respiratory Humidifier is suitable for use with both noninvasive and invasive therapies.
The HC550 Respiratory Humidifier is designed to be used with RT-series Breathing Circuits. These circuits come in a variety of configurations to suit the patient’s respiratory and therapy needs.
The circuits, available to purchase separately, provide the following benefits:
If a dual-limb circuit is required, the Evaqua™ 2 Breathing Circuits offer additional benefits that can further minimize inspiratory and expiratory condensation (rainout).
Available to purchase separately (selected markets only), the benefits of the circuit include:
